Character Name: Dawnfur
Character Age (in moons): 32 moons
Character Gender: Female
Character Sexuality: Bisexual
Disabilities: None / N/A
Clan: Thunderclan
Rank: Warrior
Description (*): Dawnfur is an orange/gold and black tortoiseshell she-cat with pale green eyes and a thick coat. She is larger than the average cat, and fairly well-muscled, but usually appears non-threatening and deeply thoughtful. She blends in easily amongst the trees, making her an accomplished hunter, and despite her size is very light-footed.
Personality: Solid, confident, tough, and often a pessimist, Dawnfur's personality has a faint resemblance to a brick wall. She isn't talkative in the slightest, and her friends will find themselves more liked in companionable silence rather than what seems to her to be meaningless chatter. Despite this, she is extremely social and loves the company of others, making her an endlessly loyal clan cat. She rarely changes her opinions, and believes any cat who believes something different to her to be a ‘poor misguided creature.’
Surprisingly she is extremely graceful, and treasures going out hunting with a small group of friends as her favourite activity. She views fights as necessary, and due to her size she is a vicious force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. The other clans appear to her as simply cats with different skills and beliefs, and so they are outsiders who are of no consequence to her except if they stray over the border. She can be very scornful and even cruel to cats who were rude to her, and despite her loyalty, can be ridiculously stubborn when it comes to what she sees as the ‘errors’ in the warrior code. She is also very pessimistic, and rolls her eyes at the cats trying to ‘see the silver lining’ or whatever. She rarely cracks a smile, and will cuff the ear of some of the cats who endlessly joke and laugh. This can make her appear as a party pooper and a grumpy elder, but this isn’t so.
Even though Dawnfur can be deeply suspicious of cats first attempting friendship, when she is friends with them, she’d die to get them half a mouse, and if someone insults them, a warning growl will come naturally to her. She isn’t the plotting type, and not the smartest warrior, but still fairly knowledgeable, and her response to elaborate plans is often; “Why don’t we just attack them straight on hmm?” always with that extra bite of sarcasm.
Family (*): Her parents, Mossfoot and Darkleaf are long dead, and she was a single kit. She has no other known kin in the clan.
History: Dawnfur was born in Thunderclan, and grew up with a father who acted like she didn’t exist and a mother who taught her her rudest mannerisms, without really caring for her kit or her mate. One day her mother was caught by a fox when she was out hunting, and Dawnfur (at that point Dawnkit) learned quickly how to take care of herself. And entertain herself-by going to the medicine den. At first everyone thought she would become a medicine cat, but she did this not to show interest in the position but to see if her mother could have in fact been saved. Soon realising the hopelessness of the wish, she shook herself out of it and instead spent the rest of her kithood days training furiously with the apprentices, sometimes to their amusement. Her father Darkleaf quickly took over training her, sometimes with claws out, and when she was apprenticed to another warrior by the name of Aspenbranch, she was well prepared.
Her apprenticeship was uneventful, apart from her father dying in a battle with invading rogues. She felt no grief, and no desire to avenge him and it was in this battle that she earned her warrior name, being honored for her skill and resilience. Although she often appeared as the youngest elder, with her irritable manner and peculiar habit of telling stories with morals, she quickly established a place of respect, and dignity in the clan. Never dwelling on her past, she found herself easily fitting in with who she needed to be for her clan rather than the lonely kit looking for a cure for her mother in the medicine den.
